About Computer Society of India

Computer Society of India (CSI) is the oldest and largest, association of IT users and professionals, in India. Started in 1965, the Society has grown to over 22,000 members spread over 65 Chapters across the country.

The purpose of the Society are scientific, educational and social directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of Computer Science, Computer Engineering & Technology, Systems Science & Engineering, Information Processing, related arts and Sciences.

CSI endeavors to
  • Promote interchange of information, in these disciplines and sub-disciplines, amongst the specialists and between specialists and Public;
  • Encourage and assist the professionals engaged in these fields to maintain the integrity and competence of the profession;
  • Foster a sense of partnership amongst the professionals and users engaged in these fields.

Means to these ends are holding of meetings for the reading and discussing of professional papers, the publications and circulation of works of literature, science, and art pertaining thereto and any other activities necessary, suitable and proper for the fulfillment of these objectives.

Popular activities targeted towards educational institutions, students, upcoming professionals (with the intent of increasing IT literacy and awareness, evaluating IT competency, talent search, Industry-Academic interaction, etc.) include:
